In 2010, I decided that I wanted to have a garage sale, but the only problem with that is that I live in the country. I was pretty sure that I wouldn't have very many people who would come down my country road to a garage sale. So, the idea came to me that I could rent a small booth at an antique mall and put the things I was looking to sell in my garage sale in there and see how it went. I even asked a friend to come and join me with the things she was looking to sell as well.
My mother owned two antique stores when I was a child, so the love for all things made of old wood and things with a bit of rust came from her. I enjoyed calling and telling her what all I had found, what sales I had been to in San Antonio, and living my dream along with her. My dad was also a great business adviser. He started his own business when I was six months old, and it ran strong for 41 years. I leaned on him so much when I first started and he would always give me his signature advice: “thy will be done, Lia.”
So I just kept praying, and the customers kept coming to my little spot in the antique mall. After a year or so, I found out about Round Top from a friend at the antique mall. I found a booth to rent there in the spring and split it with a couple of friends and I sold there for two years, enjoying every minute of it. I met so many great customers and I enjoyed getting to know people from around the United States that came to that 12 mile long garage sale twice a year.
My mother passed away before ever getting to come inside the new building. I’m not sure that I will get over that one, but I’m working on it every day. The day that my dad was able to come and see me in the new store was a true blessing for me. I know they see me and continue to pray for me and my dream every single day. I sure do miss them.
Welcome to the O.S.T. Restaurant. The Old Spanish Trail was used by the conquistadors, who often followed routes established long ago by Native Americans. The O.S.T. Restaurant has been serving the dining needs of Bandera since 1921, making it the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Bandera County. The building was originally the old Davenport Grocery Store and, where the John Wayne Room is now, there was once a horse
corral. During the 30s and 40s, the O.S.T. was also a dance hall where many famous singers and bands played.
Bandera is known as the “Cowboy Capital of the World” for its western culture and many dude ranches. Dudes, cowboys, and locals all like the O.S.T. for its ranch-house, share-the-tables at-home atmosphere. Several national travel magazines and tour books have featured the O.S.T. as one of the best places to eat in Texas. If you like down-home cooking served by friendly staff you’re in the right place. We take pride in our chicken-fried steak and Tex-Mex food. The salad bar is set in an old West-style wagon.
Be sure to visit the John Wayne Room and see many pictures of “Duke” and other cowboys and celebrities. Decor includes the wagon-wheel chandeliers, trophy elk, and widespread Texas longhorns. Belly up to the saddle bar and take in a meal.
Thank you for your patronage, and we hope you enjoy your meal!

I believe in CrossFit as a daily life “enhancer”. What do I mean by this? Anyone can do CrossFit! Yes, anyone. Any age and any physical shape. Ask yourself these questions: Do you sit down and stand back up? Do you pick up your child or a bag of dog food? Do you carry your groceries into your house? Do you pack things into the top shelve of your closet? Well, I hate to tell you, but you are doing the nine foundational functional movements on a daily basis, and that is exactly what CrossFit is about. I want to make sure you do all these movements in a safe way, so you may continue with your exciting daily chores. CrossFit is defined as, constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement. What does this mean? We never have the same workout twice, we make sure you work very hard, and that you stay safe while doing it. At our Box, we have the belief that every person is an athlete, that every person will be given the appropriate time and attention needed, and that every person leaves our Box with a sense of accomplishment and pride. CrossFit teaches you about your own physical strength but more importantly, about your mental strength and toughness.
